Dimension 2: The Practices of Science


Our CBAL Science competency model includes five central practices (Figure 3) that are aligned with the NRC Framework for K-12 Science Education (NRC, 2011). These practices are listed below. In this section, we describe each of these five central practices by defining the construct and elaborating its importance in learning about science.
